Pavers are concrete blocks that have been pre-formed into a shape or style in order to create a smooth surface. These surfaces can be driveways, pathways, outside steps and more. They also come in a variety of textures and colors.
How are Pavers Installed?
Pavers are installed either professionally or by the owner. Depending on the task at hand, most people do it themselves. The type of paver will also determine whether someone can do it themselves. Pavers that are clay are harder to handle and chip easily and will typically be left up to a professional to install.
Before starting on laying the pavers, the area needs to be mapped out to the design desired. Then, the area has to be cleaned free of debris and then leveled and compacted. All these steps are very important and cannot be forgone.
You then will lay the pavers in the desired pattern. While laying you must compact them so they are tight and do not shift. After all are laid, sand or other material is packed in between cracks so the pavers do not move and growth does not come between them.
