Installing a Pot Filler Faucet Above Your Stove

A pot filler faucet is the ultimate in convenience and utility for the cook. It is another example of the great commercial-kitchen features that are finding their way into the home kitchen because of their convenience and utility.

Step One – Take Measurements

To be sure you put the pot filler faucet at the right height, when taking measurements, you need to consider: the technical dimensions from the manufacturer, the height of the cook top burners above the countertop, and the height of your tallest pot.

Since the faucet folds against the wall when not in use, you also need to consider swing-away space. Make sure the faucet won’t hit your cabinets or mar any other surface.

Step Two – Consider the Design

You may want a model with two valves and a separate ball valve in the plumbing. The separate-ball valve allows you to turn off the water in order to adjust the pot filler faucet if it needs repairs.

Step Three – Install the Faucet

Installing the faucet involves drilling through the backsplash behind the cook top, hooking into existing plumbing (or bringing plumbing to the area), installing the ball valve, and installing the faucet.
