You can paint kitchen cabinets to update a tired kitchen quickly.
Before you Paint
- Remove the doors.
- Remove all the hardware from the doors and the cabinets.
- Clean cabinets thoroughly - use orange oil to remove grease.
- Allow the surface to dry completely.

Prime Before you Paint
Once the kitchen cabinets and doors are clean and completely dry, you need to apply a coat of primer-sealer. Follow the grain and make sure it is even. Priming saves you having to sand down and remove the gloss before you paint.
Let sit for 24 hours before apply the paint.
Paint Your Kitchen Cabinets
Once the primer is completely dry you can begin to paint. High gloss or semi-gloss are both good for cabinets. Use a good quality brush for applying the paint. Start in the center and follow the grain of the wood.
You will need to apply two to three coats to produce a nice finish. You must let each coat dry thoroughly before applying another coat.
You can paint kitchen cabinets on a budget and increase the value of your home.
