Fix a Loose Kitchen Faucet Handle

A loose kitchen faucet handle can be troublesome. You may not be able to control the water flow, and they will eventually start to leak. The best thing to do if you have a loose kitchen faucet handle is to fix it sooner rather than later. You will only need a screwdriver most times, and sometimes a new pin (available at any hardware supply store) is in order. Either way, this is a fix that can be done in less than an hour.
    
Water Supply

First, you’ll need to make sure you’ve turned off the water supply to the sink. Most of the time this is directly under the sink.

Removing the Screw

Secondly, look on the backside of the faucet for a small screw. Go ahead and remove this and place it to the side so you won’t lose it.

Cleaning

Third, most faucet handles will gently slide off once the screw is removed.  This is a good time to clean the inside of this piece. Sediment and debris can build up causing more problems later.
    
Check the Pin

Lastly, check to ensure the pin is in tact. If it’s not, replace it. When you put the handle back on, make sure you take care in placing the screw back in place. If you don’t tighten it enough, it may still be loose.
