Now's the Time to Shop for Fall Bulbs

Now's the Time to Shop for Fall Bulbs Remember how beautiful the daffodils and tulips were this spring? You probably wish you had planted more. Well, now that they've finished blooming and summer is almost here, it's time to start thinking about next year's spring garden.

Once summer ends and cooler temperatures set in, you'll need to plant the bulbs that will grace your garden next spring, but you shouldn't wait until the fall planting season arrives to buy them. Reserve yours now and save.

Companies like American Meadows, one of the largest and most respected suppliers of flower seeds, plants and bulbs in North America, are offering great deals on fall bulbs now. Click here to take advantage of the current 50 percent off sale on tulip, daffodil, crocus and lily bulbs, plus Amaryllis for the holidays.

"The earlier you order, the more you save," says American Meadows President Ray Allen. "Early orders help us secure the best flower bulb prices from our Dutch bulb distributors and we pass the savings on to you. Order now and you'll save a full 50 percent, but the discount will drop to 35 percent, then 20 percent, and then regular price as fall approaches."

Among the garden marvels Allen is expecting to be extremely popular this year:

Dutch Master (King Alfred improved) Daffodil Bulbs which offer the perfect early color for any place in the yard that doesn't need early mowing.  You can plant them along a hillside, in a front flower garden, in between trees, anywhere you want.

"The best thing about this type of bulb is you only have to plant them once. They don't care about the soil, as long as it's drained, and you won't have to worry about deer eating them because they are deer resistant. So they'll bloom beautifully for you with absolutely no work every spring after you plant them," says Allen.

Combo Gardens of Daffodils and Wildflower Seeds are the perfect fit for creative gardeners who want more beauty but  less work. This fall, simply plant the combo, which includes 50 Daffodils and a full pound of wildflower seeds -- enough to cover 2,000 to 3,000 square feet. Come spring, the Daffodils will pop up, and once they die off, the wildflowers will grow up and cover their brown leaves, offering color all summer and into the fall.

If you have a large area available for planting, you may want to consider
going with a crate of 100 Monster Daffodil bulbs. They are extra-large bulbs of bright yellow Daffodils that have been specially grown to be over 18 centimeters in circumference. That translates to a whopping 7 plus inches around! The bulbs in each crate are both double and triple-nosed, which means they'll produce up to three blooms per bulb.

Order now by clicking on one of the above links and your fall bulbs will be shipped to you in September and October -- just in time for fall planting.
