Our Bathroom DIY

After buying a 98 year old house, that needed immediate TLC, we went to work, learning as we went, with the help of a designer and some trades people. When we gutted the bathroom, we found rot due to a hairline crack in the shower plumbing, along with a window that had been covered at some point. After cutting it out and rebuilding the wall, we had to add new floor joists, as the original ones had been nothched out for the plumbing during a previous reno.
We also ripped up the floor in the 'closet' beside the bathroom and discovered it was originally a toilet room, which was exactly what we had hoped. The original plumbing was there, and worked, so was perfect for our plan to take the toilet out of the bathroom, and build a seperate shower and add a clawfoot tub we found on Craigs' list.
The vanity was custom built, with a marble top, and marble around the shower surrounds. Add heated floors, and we ended up with exactly what we wanted. The glass for the shower was installed without channels for a clean look.
This spring, we start on the main floor with a kitchen and bathroom gut and reno.
